Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Our Service
- We will provide swimming lessons with instructors who are qualified through STA, Swim England, or an equivalent recognised swimming teaching body.
- Instructors may teach from in or out of the water and may support swimmers physically where appropriate to help with body position, confidence, safety, and correct stroke technique.
- If one of our regular instructors is unavailable, we may provide a suitably qualified cover instructor.
- While we aim to provide consistency, the same instructor cannot be guaranteed for every lesson.
- We will keep to the agreed lesson format and swimmer numbers wherever possible.
- If a lesson is cancelled by Barnet Premier Swim due to an issue caused by us and the lesson is not delivered, we will refund or credit that lesson.
- Swimming days and times are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed, as sessions may become fully booked.
- For group lessons, swimmers may be moved to a more suitable class where needed for safety, ability level, confidence, or progress.
Swimmer and Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
- Adult swimmers must follow pool rules, venue rules, and instructor guidance at all times.
- Parents and guardians must remain on the premises while their swimmer is taking part in lessons.
- Swimmers must be kept away from the poolside until their instructor calls them forward for their lesson.
- Parents and guardians must not assist with the instruction of a swimmer during their lesson.
- Swimmers, including siblings, must not walk, run, or play around the perimeter of the pool.
- Parents and guardians must not approach poolside during the lesson unless asked to do so by the swimmer's instructor.
- Swimmers must be changed in the correct changing rooms provided and not on poolside.
- If a swimmer arrives late, the lesson may still need to finish at the scheduled time.
Refunds and Cancellations Policy
- Once your lesson time and start date have been agreed, that space is reserved for you and may not be offered to another swimmer.
- If you do not attend a booked lesson, we are unable to offer a refund, credit, or replacement lesson, regardless of the reason for non-attendance.
- Missed lessons, late arrivals, or non-attendance by the customer are non-refundable and will not be credited.
- If you decide to stop lessons part-way through a private lesson block booking or group lesson half term, we are unable to refund the remaining lessons.
- Group lessons at Whitings Hill Primary School are booked by half term. Missed group lessons are non-refundable and cannot be carried over to a future half term.
- Catch-up lessons are only available for group lessons and do not apply to private 1-1 or 2-1 lessons.
- If a swimmer misses a group lesson, we will try to offer a catch-up lesson where possible. Catch-up lessons must be agreed with us beforehand, are subject to availability, and are not guaranteed.
- Any group catch-up lesson offered must be used within the same half term as the missed lesson and cannot be carried over to a future half term.
Bookings and Payment
- Please only make payment once your lesson time and start date have been confirmed by Barnet Premier Swim.
- A booking is only confirmed once we have agreed the lesson details with you and payment has been received.
Safety and Suitability
- Please tell us about any medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, additional needs, injuries, behavioural needs, or other relevant information before lessons begin.
- Please also tell us if any of this information changes during the course of lessons.
- Swimmers must not attend lessons if they are unwell, have a contagious illness, or have had sickness or diarrhoea within the previous 48 hours.
- Swimmers must follow pool rules and instructor guidance at all times.
Safeguarding and Welfare
- We take safeguarding and swimmer welfare seriously and aim to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive lesson environment.
- Any safeguarding, welfare, or conduct concerns should be raised with Barnet Premier Swim as soon as possible so they can be taken seriously and handled appropriately.
- Parents, guardians, adult swimmers, and instructors are expected to behave respectfully towards each other at all times.
Venue Rules and Behaviour
- All swimmers, parents, guardians, and visitors must follow the rules of the venue, including changing room, parking, access, and poolside rules.
- We may refuse, pause, or stop a lesson if a swimmer or customer behaves in a way that is unsafe, abusive, disruptive, or repeatedly ignores instructor guidance.
- Customers are responsible for their own belongings while attending lessons.
Photography and Video
- Photographs or videos of swimmers will only be used for promotional purposes where permission has been given.
- Parents, guardians, and customers must not photograph or film other swimmers, instructors, or pool users without permission.
Complaints and Concerns
- We take complaints and concerns seriously and will aim to deal with them fairly and as quickly as possible.
